1. Introduce myself. Say ‘Good morning, I am Miss Wang.

Ask more students: who is Eddie/ Hobo?

           Does Eddie like the e-dog?

2. Get students to talk in a non-intimidating environment, to start with simple greetings

3. Explain to students that they are meeting six students in Beijing. Ask them to look at the people in Part A and identify them by name.

Ask: what are their names?

Do they have English names? What are their names?

Can you tell me the names of the boys and the girls?

Step4. Practice

   Practice saying the names of the central characters. Explain different greetings express different levels of formality.

Step5. Reading.

1. Read the conversation to the class using different voices.

4.  Choose six students to read one sentence each or divide the class into pairs. Then they read the conversation to each other.

Step6. Practice

 Ask students to do PartB1 alone.

 Ask students to do PartB2 in pairs to practice introducing oneself

Homework.

 Tell students to draw two scenes of people meeting each other. Ask them to draw speech bubble containing appropriate greetings.
